A pilot’s perspective on the systems behind flight training.

I’m Matthew Ewing, founder of Stratum Systems. As a pilot and student of aviation, I’ve seen how important the experience surrounding flight training is — from a prospective student’s first interaction with a school to the systems that support training day to day.

Choosing a flight school is a significant decision. Students compare programs, aircraft, instructors, and cost, and most of that comparison happens online before they ever set foot on the ramp. Yet many schools that deliver excellent training are represented by websites that don’t reflect it.

Behind the scenes, I’ve seen how much of a school’s daily work — scheduling, tracking progress, keeping aircraft available — is spread across tools that were never designed to work together.

I founded Stratum Systems to help with both: first, by giving flight schools a website that represents them properly, and over time, by connecting that website to the operational tools they use to run the school.

Aviation

A pilot's view of flight training

I'm a student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an instrument-rated private pilot. I've been through flight training as a student, and I know what it's like to choose a school, schedule lessons, and track progress toward a rating.

Marketing

How businesses earn trust online

Before Stratum, I worked in marketing, particularly with businesses in the contractor industries. That work taught me how a clear website, a focused message, and a dependable inquiry process shape whether a customer picks up the phone.

Mission

Where the two meet

Stratum Systems brings those perspectives together: helping flight schools present themselves with the professionalism their training deserves, and, over time, connecting that presence to the tools they use to run the school.

How Stratum operates.

Honest about what exists
We describe what is available today and what is still being built — clearly, and in writing. Planned features are labeled as planned.
Built for aviation
We work only with flight schools, and we design around how students research, compare, and choose where to train.
Accuracy first
Your school supplies and approves every fact on its website. In aviation, getting the details right is not optional.
Built to last
We're building a long-term foundation for each school, not a one-off project that's handed over and forgotten.

I'd like to hear about your school.

Whether you're ready for a new website or curious about where the platform is headed, I'm glad to talk it through.
